  • Elbaite variety Tourmaline.  A forest of gem crystal Tourmalines grew out of a bi-color base to form this extremely unique mineral specimen.  It is hard to tell from the photo but this tourmaline is extremely glassy and almost pure gem.  This color is very rare for Elbaites and changes from a smokey blue to a raspberry finish.  This specimen has intense luster on the numerous flat terminations.  This is a very dramatic display given the host rock itself is in fact a terminated tourmaline crystal.  Very minor surface damage but it does not detract from the specimen.  This mall cabinet sized specimen as a very unique visual appeal.
