Quartz variety Amethyst on Smokey Quartz.  This grey and black Smokey Quartz supports an large Amethyst crown.  This specimen exhibits textbook scepter formation and has an intense color contrast given the trace amount of the orange Feldspar matrix lining the stem. The Amethyst crown has a soft elestial feel to it and many lustrous crystal faces, and minimal damage.  Extremely interesting crystal formations called parallel groups make scepters from this locality extremely unique specimens.
