The name of this unique crystal formation is called "parallel growth" which sometimes forms a classic scepter shape. This unique crystal overgrowth is called "open re-entry" which is quite different from most common scepters because of the way in which the stem crystal appears to enter the crown. What is really happening is in fact: Complete Amethyst crystals encapsulate the stem crystal in an overlapping parallel growth.
